Home support workers and housekeepers
Children are cared for either temporarily or permanently by home child care providers. In addition to helping parents with child care and possibly domestic chores, they look out for the health and social and physical development of youngsters. Their homes, where they may also live, or the homes of the children are where they mostly offer care. They work for private homes and daycare centres, or they could work for themselves.

Main Duties
- Supervise and care for children in employer’s or own residence
- Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
- Prepare formulas and change diapers for infants
- Plan, prepare and serve meals for children and may perform other housekeeping duties
- Oversee children’s activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Instruct children in personal hygiene
